Nelly Furtado sagte einst "All good things come to an end." Mag sein, aber the best things goen weiter! Es ist uns (Fractal Nights) die allergrößte Ehre, den letzten Paukenschlag im Ottakringer Kollektiv Kaorle zu setzen. Es wird den ganzen Tag gefeiert, aber das erfahrt ihr alles noch :-) Wir kümmern uns um musikalisches Programm, festes Schuhwerk und gute Laune.

Wir freuen uns so sehr, Julián Mayorga (Glitterbeat) aus Kolumbien in Wien begrüßen zu dürfen. Sein Konzert am Transcentury Update in Leipzig war eines der besten, die wir je sehen durften. Seitdem arbeiten wir ihn dran, ihn nach Wien zu holen - und wollten ihn unbedingt (oder nur?) im Kaorle veranstalten. 

Völlig abgedrehte Post-Cumbia-Action: Experimentelles Songwriting, found percussion und selbstgebaute Instrumente, weirde Rhythmen, antikapitalistische, surrealistische Lyrics, abgedrehte Visuals und Kostüme. File under: Post-Cumbia/Avantgarde/Psychedelia/Geil? Und tanzbar wie Sau :-)

Ora et Labora ist das Alias der Wiener Musikerin Leonie Tabea Kudler. Während klassische Musik und Filmmusik in ihrer Kindheit den ersten tiefgehenden Zugang zur Musik eröffneten, formten Einflüsse aus Genres wie Dungeon Synth, Post-Punk, Synthpop und schließlich Gabba, sowie experimentelle elektronische Musik ihren heutigen, unverwechselbaren Sound. Durch das Zusammenspiel von träumerischen Kompositionen, getragen von Synthesizern, hallenden Vocals und elektronischen Drums, erschafft sie Klanglandschaften, die ihr Umfeld auf eine Reise in ihr Inneres mitnehmen sollen.

LA WASHA ist ein in Wien ansässiges Musikprojekt der Sängerin Valentina Viera (chilenische Performancekünstlerin, Aktivistin und DJ „La Machi“) und Stefan Kerschbaumer (österreichischer Musikproduzent/DJ „Gallo Rojo“ und Umweltaktivist). Ihre Texte drehen sich um aktuelle und allgegenwärtige gesellschaftliche Themen wie Rassismus, Kapitalismus, Meinungsfreiheit, Feminismus und Fragen nach einem guten Leben für alle. In ihrer Musik greifen die beiden Künstler*innen intensiv auf ihren kulturellen und persönlichen Hintergrund zurück und mischen europäisch geprägte elektronische Klänge mit lateinamerikanischen Rhythmen. Zwischen Reggaeton, Tekno, Trap, E-Gitarren, Synthesizern und Cumbia oszillierend, verschmilzt das Duo Genres mit einer großzügigen Punkrock-Attitüde.

Wir freuen uns auf ein letztes großes, gemeinsames Fest in OTK. Auch wir von Fractal Nights blicken mit gigantischer Vorfreude auf das neue Kapitel am Otto-Wagner-Areal. Da gibt es auch schon einige sehr tolle Pläne unsererseits :-)

Nelly Furtado once said, ‘All good things come to an end.’ That may be true, but the best things go on! It is our (Fractal Nights) greatest honour to provide the final flourish at Ottakringer Kollektiv Kaorle. There will be celebrations all day long, but you'll find out all about that later :-) We'll take care of the musical programme and whatever else comes to our minds.

Last year we saw one of the best concerts of our life at Transcentury Update Festival in Leipzig. A show by Colombian artist Julián Mayorga. Since then we are working on making a show happen with him. 

Julián Mayorga (Glitterbeat) – experimental song destroyer and avant-garde musician from Colombia. His new record “Chak Chak Chak Chak” is a kaleidoscopic mix of post-cumbia, psychedelia, anti-capitalist satire, and polyrhythmic chaos. Mayorga blends frying pans, junkyard percussion, and circuit-bent electronics into an unforgettable live experience, accompanied by live visuals and costumes by his creative partner.

Think Tom Zé meets Captain Beefheart in a tropical fever dream — with guitar work that cuts like a machete and vocals that erupt in surrealist incantations.

And like we said – it was one of the best things we’ve ever seen live.

Ora et Labora is the alias of Viennese musician Leonie Tabea Kudler. While classical music and film scores provided her with her first profound introduction to music during her childhood, influences from genres such as dungeon synth, post-punk, synthpop (and gabba), as well as experimental electronic music, have shaped her distinctive sound today.

Through the interplay of dreamy compositions, carried by synthesizers, echoing vocals and electronic drums, she creates soundscapes that take her audience on a journey into her inner world.

Their lyrics revolve around current and omnipresent social issues such as racism, capitalism, freedom of expression, feminism and questions about the good life for all. In their music, the two artists draw extensively on their cultural and personal backgrounds and mix European-influenced electronic sounds with Latin American rhythms. Oscillating between reggaeton, tekno, trap, electric guitars, synthesizers and cumbia, the duo fuse genres with a generous punk-rock-attitude.
