Myles Bullen, Squalloscope & Vienna Soundpainting Collective

Myles Bullen (live)

Myles Bullen is a rainbow colored grief rapper, a folk punk princess poet from Portland, Maine, USA. Myles has toured nearly every state in the US, Canada, Japan and many European countries performing packed DIY shows at music venues, colleges, recovery centers, prisons, festivals, and libraries. As a person in long term recovery, Myles sings songs about burying friends, doing drugs, getting sober, existing exuberantly, navigating identity, relationships, cartoon lore, having a crush on death, and feeling all the feelings.

Myles explores liminal spaces and tie dyes T-shirts for a niche fan base of emo weirdos who like crying and screaming and believing in magic.

„The young squire is able to move seamlessly, playing musical chairs with genres, and ability to move within a number of them without being held complicit to just one.“ (Diego Flores, Ghettoblaster Magazine)

Squalloscope (live)

Squalloscope is interdisciplinary artist Anna Kohlweis, who works in songwriting, painting, poetry, drawing, sculpture, animation, general nonsense and illustration. She has been writing, producing, and performing music since 2006 – first as Paper Bird, then as Squalloscope and as one half of the band Twin Tooth.

Her work lies in creating an expansive narrative universe firmly rooted in folklore, the intense depths of human (dis)connection, and the search for the surreal and intimate. After releasing several albums on Seayou Records, the U.S. label Fake Four Inc., and by herself, she is currently working on various cross-disciplinary projects in hopes of turning inside out and bursting at the seams. Anna Kohlweis lives and works in Vienna, on the internet, and in your head.

“It gives me a feeling I’ve never gotten from an album before, like my cooler big sister has let me into her room to talk to me about things. It’s so comforting and wise and funny and unabashedly strange in certain ways. It makes me feel braver.” (Colin Swegman)

“Like a soft duck wing holding a rocket launcher... It’s devastating. In a sweet way.” (Myles Bullen)

Vienna Soundpainting Collective

The Vienna Soundpainting Collective (VSC) is an interdisciplinary ensemble that explores various connections and overlaps between music and movement through Soundpainting – live compositional sign language. The musical palette of VSC moves between jazz, improvised music, humorous impulses and noises.
