NOISE FLOOR
Stage fusion experiment in Vienna — presented by Natasha Moreno & Klangangriff Records.
Listening to become movement. Movement to become another form of listening. An experiment in merging the experiences of concert and club, allowing contemplation and participation to coexist and amplify each other, bringing intimacy and delight together with shared energy, openness and fluidity. A space without hierarchies or divisions, where different backgrounds and ways of being can meet. There is room. There is noise. There is a floor.
James Welburn (NO)
Originally from London, James Welburn spent over a decade submerged in Berlin's underground music scenes, exploring sound and technology to the limit. A fascination with visiting Norwegian experimental musicians paved the way to packing his bags and moving up North.
Welburn creates music on the boundary between drone, noise and electronica, and is known for modifying dirty electric bass sounds with abstract software effects. Creating dark engulfing soundscapes and searing bass drones that breathe with a mysterious, forceful energy. His tracks are driven forward by a relentless rhythm section with sound, noise and music arranged into epic compositions.
His biography boasts notable collaborations, including legendary drummer Tony Buck of The Necks, Tomas Järmyr (Zu & Motorpsycho), Andrea Belfi, Alexander Rishaug, Aidan Baker (Nadja), Juliana Venter (Phil Winter), Hilde Marie Holsen (Hubro), and the late veteran drone composer Phill Niblock.
With releases on respected labels such as Miasmah Recordings, Silken Tofu, Subsidense, Cloudchamber and guest appearances on Monotype Records, Wolves And Vibrancy Records, New Kanada, Gonzo Circus, Dial & The Sonic Arts Network.
Live highlights include NEXT Advanced Music Festival in Bratislava (SK), Rewire Festival in Den Haag (NE), Incubate festival in Tilburg (NE), Flussi International Media Arts Festival (IT), Vriompeis Festival Oslo (NO), Nødutgang Festival in Bodø (NO), Miasmah Records Showcases at STUK/Leuven (BE), Fluister/Dordrecht (NE), Hradby Samoty in Rosice (CZ), Itch my HAHAHA Brno (CZ), Summit of Braillė Satellitė (LT). DJ Saint Pierre (FR)
DJ Saint Pierre began his musical journey at the age of 12 through piano lessons. His appetite for creation quickly emerged after acquiring a drum machine and a sampler, allowing him to experiment with electronic compositions. He quickly immersed into the world of vinyl mixing, collecting electronic records, particularly techno and gradually carving out a place in the emerging techno scene. At the age of 18, he began performing as a DJ and developing his own musical identity. Over the years, DJ Saint Pierre refined his art, evolving towards increasingly textured and daring techno, exploring experimental sounds.
His career took a decisive turn thanks to his friend Ricardo Garduno, who opened the doors to Illegal Alien Records, which has since become his family label where his creativity is freely expressed and constantly supported. In parallel, since 2017, he co-founded the Anmon project with the French artist Ténèbre, an experiment in alternative electronic music, with releases on the Yuku label. This abstract sound laboratory explores the frontiers between drum & Bass, techno, ambient, and experimental influences, providing a fertile ground for rhythmic and sound exploration. DJ Saint Pierre does not conform to trends; instead, he allows his emotions to guide him, continuously working to push the limits of his creativity, whether performing live or playing a DJ set.

Message:
ANMON was born from the collaboration of French producers DJ Saint Pierre and Ténèbre. Through rearranged recorded live jams, their music is a series of fast-paced experiments at the fringe of the techno spectrum. Built for the stage and trance-induced listening experiences, Anmon summons a renewed tribal spirit — an unexpected resurgence of the sonic aesthetics of freeparties via their very own interpretation.

A_Phan (AT)
With his moniker A_Phan, Manuel Cyrill shifts his focus to the outer reaches of techno. Modulation sources, tape loops, and field recordings become anchor points in his sonified alpine mountain wall, situated at the borders between syncopated rhythms and intricate sound structures. A_Phan never sounds detached, but always remains grounded. The element of chance that lends patronage to improvisation is the essence of a counter-movement that neither predicts nor attempts to calculate the listeners. It’s an altruistic approach that A_Phan reveals, whispering through modulated tension: "Let yourself fall!".

Nnerak (BY/AT/CH)
NNERAK (Natasha Moreno & Phalera) [live] :
To continue the evening we would have the first live performance of the duo NNERAK, an alliance between Natasha Moreno (BY/AT) and Phalera (CH) which aims to explore electronic music without genre barriers with an improvisational approach. Strong ambient textures with an elegant take on west coast synthesis meeting heavy and unconventional rhythms with creative processing manipulations.

Phalera (CH)
Phalera is the new music project of the artist formerly known as Geisterstimme. With this new found identity the music follows along towards a more left field direction, coming back to be inspired by bass music and thus finding new wind forwards in his musical journey. Aiming to blend bass music’s production style and the musical destructuration of techno, Phalera is looking for a new and more playful sound that doesn’t shy away from going to places where techno isn’t used to go to on the ordinary. Broken rhythms, abstract sound movement and dripping textures will be heard.

Yakkushi (GE)
Klangangriff member Yakkushi from Tbilisi, Georgia is coming over for the occasion. His sets are characterized by driving, hypnotic beats, this fast-paced and groovy collection of tracks creates an immersive soundscape that captivates listeners. The relentless rhythm and deep, throbbing basslines form the backbone of the set, propelling the energy forward with an almost mechanical precision. Each track layers intricate synth patterns and atmospheric effects, crafting a mesmerizing auditory experience.

Klangangriff
Klangangriff is a label run by Phalera and Yakkushi focused on left field techno, deep hypnotic techno and other electronic music we find interesting and worth pushing forward.
Originally, Klangangriff was founded as a collective back in 2019 in Vienna by RAEZA, DJ Chteuf, GAST! and Yakkushi. Shortly after its initiation and launch of their podcast series, Phalera (formerly known as Geisterstimme) would integrate the collective as well. Two events would be organized pre covid in Vienna after the launch and the podcast series kept being consistent with uploads, reaching for bigger and bigger names slowly. During covid, the members each moved to different cities and so all the planning would be done remotely. During this time we hosted a series of livestreams that took place on facebook that hosted amongst others artists like Alarico (then distorted anima) or Specific Objects. A friend of Raeza, Bastien Freymond, also integrated the collective, taking care of the graphic design from there on. For a while after that, only podcasts would be released, there not being any opportunity for organizing any events during this time. From there on, a showcase on pattern Berlin was organized as well as an event in Paris in 2022. The first release of Klangangriff was a V.A featuring all of it's then members (except RAEZA, who isn't producing music) came in 2023. This EP marked the end of KA's initial formation, a one year break followed, upon which all members decided to leave except Phalera and Yakkushi who decided to keep the project going. They Started by getting the mix series going again and one year later went on to make a collaborative V.A. fundraiser project with the label re:flect in support of the Georgian Protesters opposing the Government lead by the "Georgian dream" party. This 3 part series featured among others, Essentia, Franz Jäger, Uväll and Punktmidi. One year after that KA released Knocks by the quickly rising artist eaien. A release party was also organized at Voiid Klub (Lausanne) in order to support the Album. The next chapter for KA will be pushing it's style more towards left field techno and take in some more influences coming from experimental electronic music as well as from the new underground bass music scene. A_Phan's new album FIAT will introduce this change in musical direction, opening up new paths for further releases. A collaboration with Kaorle vienna is also planned that will feature DJ Saint-Pierre as well as the post-rock act James Wellburn, A_Phan and Nnerak (Natasha Moreno & Phalera live improvisation). The future of KA's album cover graphics will be the result of Natasha Moreno's art works.
