Vienna post-punk band Modecenter have already released their second album, "Altes Glück". A tightly woven, eight-track statement, wild and impressive, angular, scuzzy and captivating all at once, in a post-punk, un-rockist, ass-kicking sense of rocking out. Its singer is the kind of frontman who can split opinion, thanks to an exalted, emotionally charged delivery that moves through different dimensions. Post-punk and noise rock go hand in hand, and time and again the band glides through a grey landscape with a keen sense of dynamics, only to sound once more like a German-language answer to Viagra Boys, as on "Zwischen den Zeilen".
